The family and I are flying to Chicago and then driving down to visit relatives in Lexington. I'm trying to get a route and some sight seeing destinations... probably best (more interesting) to stay off the main interstates, no? Any of my .org Americans have any good suggestions for places to stop and interesting things we wouldn't want to miss?

The way I remember it, the further south you go the less there is to see.
You should check out the museums and sights in the city of Chicago before your drive to Lexington.

Go to the Maker's Mark distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. It's a drive, but if you're all the way in Kentucky already, may be worth it.

That's worth seeing.

Kentucky is much like Ohio. Pretty much the same. Like any state in the Midwest. But it has nice hills, and Loretta Lynn is from there.

Well, I haven't been to Ohio either... the only states I've been to are New York and North/South Carolina.

Reese - We arrive in Chicago next week and we're actually not staying in Indiana, but touring through it on our drive to Kentucky.

Vasinger has never been to KY or OH, but he sure knows a lot about them. *rolls eyes*
