Baseball has always been my favorite sport. Who da yall thinks gonna win it. I really think the hogs have a great chance. They finally starting hitting again against kent state. They r already looking good in the 1st inning against s. carolina. I think if they can win this game, they will be the champs. They also have the best era out of all the teams in the world series.

Josh, good win last night. Hard to see our boys drop one after 22 straight postseason wins, but thankfully we've had experience playing with our backs to the wall (see 2010, lost opening game and won 6 straight.) Hopefully we dispatch Kent St. and get a rematch on Friday!

Man i could watch baseball all day. Page i figure we will playing yall again friday. Kent looked horrible when we played them, but then they turn around and beat the #1 seed. Thats what i love about baseball any team can beat any other team.

Hate to say it George, but I'm pulling for the golden flashes.

If KSU is gonna win one, tonight would be the night. We've got a freshman starter going and our bats are cold. It was a deflating loss on Tuesday, and I think our team's youth may be catching up with it. On paper it's hard to see us not winning, but Kent State looks a lot like we did back in 2010. Playing with a nothing-to-lose attitude. It should be noted that the fact we're in the final 5 is a tremendous overachievement. No one thought this squad would compare to the 2010 or 2011 team. Helluva coaching job by Ray Tanner.

Actually that is what I love about college baseball, hockey etc., that you can get these surprise teams coming from nowhere.

Its just nice to see some teams other than the usuals in there mixing it up with the big boys.

I do empathize with your last statement...of course I loved seeing Kent knock off Florida. Still, I'd rather my major program win even if it is at the expense of a mid-major. I'm sure you can relate, Dougo. (i.e. I doubt you were celebrating App State's win over Michigan the way most were...)

Who's still in it if it's not over. Some of you will hate this fact. A friend of mine is the head coach of the Indiana University baseball team. His son is on the team as well. I was not in fact at his first game he played as a kid though.

Arkansas, South Carolina, Kent State, Arizona, and Florida State are still in it. USC and KSU play in an elimination game tonight.

Tough break for USC & KSU having to play tomorrow, then the winner having to turn around and play Arkansas tomorrow night.

Yeah what an unfortunate deal. Also was announced this morning that we're throwing our ace against KSU, which we weren't going to do last night. I'm a little skeptical of not saving him for a potential Arkansas match-up, but Ray Tanner's always been about playing to win now. We'll see how it shakes out.

If those are the last 9 innings Michael Roth will pitch as a Gamecock, he made the most of 'em. 2 hits, retired the last 22 batters he faced. Set the all time record for IP at the College World Series, tied the wins record with 4. If we managed to squeak out the next 2 against Arky, he'll have a shot at #5. I really hope this kid gets a shot in the league. He's a Maddux style pitcher, picking line-ups apart as opposed to blowing them away with heat. I love watching him deal.

We'll play Arkansas in about 6 hours, and it's gonna be tough to sustain a team's worth of energy against an SEC squad that's got a lot of confidence right now. It's been a magical ride for our seniors, I tell you what. Sure hope it lasts a bit longer.

USC wins 2-0. It is now a win and you're in scenario for both teams. Gamecocks played 18 innings yesterday, gave up 5 hits.
