Boy, that game yesterday cheered me up no end.
Well done Everton.

"That's as good as we've played under my management" Roy Hodgeson
Wow.
That was just laughably easy. The only disappointment was that it was only 2-0. I was really nervous before the game but it really was a stroll. Imagine if we hadn't been lumbered with the useless Yak and had been at full strength. Fun times.
That said, I still think we'll lose to Spurs next week. Hmpf.

I guess that would be a "yes" to my question in the "football" thread then.

"oh torres doesnt have any confidence" - is it me or is it the managers job to install confidence in his player.
if this gets any worse I am just going to kill myself.

I couldn't believe Hodgeson said that mate, insane comment to make at such a time.
With Torres it looks like even more than a lack of confidence, he actually looks uninterested and I'd be really insulted if I was a Pool fan. If you don't wanna play then bugger off somewhere else.

i genuinely belive the loss of mascherano has been huge, he was out best player by a long way.
our insistence of playing 4-5-1 is crazy. driving me mad.
oh well, at least we are top of our europa group, napoli this week. we will crush them!

You're missing Mascherano much more than I thought. Never been his biggest fan but there's no steel in the midfield now. Losing him and Alonso in 2 years with no adequate replacement is a loss that would batter any team. Aquilani wasn't really the answer. Usually Merseyside derby's are won and lost in the midfield and we seemed to boss the middle of the park yesterday which for a team with very small midfielders was a surprise! Also surprised at how ineffectual Cole has looked so far, hardly noticed him yesterday.
I guess January will be the big test, see if the steel drivin' man gives Woy - or more likely Dalgliesh - the money to spend.

Mascherano is incredible, off the ball he knows exactly where the play is going, and is able to shut down attacks and redistribute quickly. He passing really improved last season, and he was a vital player for us. I am convinced that any team playing liverpool would look for his name first on the team sheet, above Gerrard or Torres.
Blackburn next week....we'll probably lose that too.

Probably cos they wanted to know how likely they were to have their legs broken! ;)
Is it Blackburn at Anfield? If so I'd imagine you'll be fine. Tough team but Fat Sam isn't quite as good a manager as he seems to think!
