I posted a video of Townes in the Springsteen covers thread that started with a brief interview. The video was shot back in '84, and even then he was shaky. At my age, I am a little bit glad I never saw him live.

1st time I saw him I had no idea what to expect. I was with a friend who suggested I would like it (Thanks Dale, wherever you are...). I was completely transfixed by his performance. I saw him 2 more times and he was great both times.

My friend Peter was at the show David Olney talks about in Be Here to Love Me, where he told Townes to get off the stage. But he also saw him two other times and puts those near the top of his all time favorite live shows.
